The future of cycling taillights is here. Vya is a game-changing design, blending powerful output with revolutionary smart features. The piercing 50 lumen output is easily visible over a distance of 1km, even in bright daylight. What separates Vya from traditional taillights are smart auto-on/off sensors - start riding and the light turns on automatically and will shut itself off after the ride, with a delay built in for stoplights. The scientifically designed SafePulse beam pattern not only gets noticed from motorists, but allows the driver to accurately judge distance from the rider and their direction of travel - a safety feature not possible with strobing lights. Attaching Vya is effortless with a simple clockwise 1/4 turn into the mount locking the light in place and activating the auto-on feature. When it comes time to recharge, remove Vya from the mount in seconds and insert the integrated USB paddle directly into a computer or USB power outlet - no cables keeps recharging simple and convenient. The next evolution in bike safety, Vya takes powerful safety lighting and keeps the rider safe so they can focus on the road ahead.
Using a button-free design, there are no moving parts that can break over time. Smart sensors do all the thinking for you. Simply insert the light into the mount using the effortless 1/4 turn twist-lock design and start riding.
Vya offers more than just a high quality light. It gives you one less thing to think about when riding your bike. Focus on your surroundings, not your equipment, and allow the smart sensors to turn the light on and off as necessary. Safety comes first with Vya, and the effortless 1/4 turn twist lock design makes it even easier to remove the light and slip it into your pocket when your done riding.
Vya uses smart sensors that know when you go. Once the light is locked into the mount, it will recognize movement and turn on as you begin to ride. When you come to a complete stop or park your bike, it will wait about 20 seconds before turning off to conserve battery. The light recognizes any movement, so even if your at a stoplight for more than 20 seconds, it senses the minimal movement of you straddling your bike and knows to stay on.
Super slick design with the minimalist approach and long battery life - love the simplicity. However, you do have to line up the insert socket correctly (there is a clear mark to do so) to perform the 1/4 turn to turn on - if you are like me and did not line this up and continue to twist with the might of a caterer arm strength (job hazard - no need for a gym membership!) the exposed recharge mechanism will easily snap. Luckily, their customer service is really top notch - hearing about my operator error and knowing that it was only used 3 times - they replaced one for me. Thanks again - would recommend 10/10!
I have had rear light for several years. In winter i periodically check mount interface for resistance of turning light 1/4 turn. A spritzing of silicone spray solves the problem. Great durable product.
I bought this light in October 2022 and use it 2x-3x a week. It's an awesome little light and was very effective during my dark (and also, for the record, cold) morning rides in New England. In April the USB tab broke off, but I wasn't diligent about cleaning it when it got hard to take in and out.
After confirming it was under warranty, Light & Motion replaced it in about a week. Really superb customer service.
I also own an L&M headlight (VS1000) that I recommend.
This is a great light...except that I've personally had a hard time with the 1/4 turn that one does to have the light portion engage with the base to turn the light on. I've snapped two off. For someone else, maybe there isn't a problem but I swore after I broke the first that it wouldn't happen again. But it did. I will buy a different albeit more expensive one next. So if you can keep your 1/4 turn correct then this light may be the best light out there for you but it wasn't for me.
This thing has been with me longer than any tail light previously owned, battery powered included. I'd have some top-rated tail lights crap out after 30 days of wet-riding, or accidentally leaving on the charger for just a smidge too lone ... but this one has been through long rides in the sun, rain, sleet and most importantly DARK. I can go for more hours on one charge than I can ride in 3 days. I will buy again ... if it ever dies.
