Why won't my light turn on?  The power button just blinks red.

Your light is in travel lock out mode.  Light & Motion incorporates this feature into all of our lights for storage and travel because there is nothing more frustrating than to pull your "charged" light out of the drawer or bag only to find it discharged.

To unlock, press and hold the power button & the mode button simultaneously for about 4 seconds. The indicator light will blink green 3 times.

To lock, when the light is on, press and hold the power button (clear) & the mode button (black) simultaneously for about 4 seconds. The indicator light will blink red 3 times.  Now it is safe to store your light.

What is paceline mode and why would I use it?

Paceline mode activates only the amber side marker lights. It is best used when riding with groups.

Good product

I've had my vis 180 pro rear light for over five years now, still going strong. Everything works as well as the day I got it. No complaints!

Purchased as a Companion to the Seca Comp 2000

Love the head light. not so much the tail light. It has lots of light but I usually travel with a trunk bag. My rack (Tubus Logo Classic 29 Rear Rack) has a thicker than normal cross member in the very back, meant for a bolt on reflector I believe. When I slip the tail light over the cross member, the bracket will not ratchet closed. The closed slot is like a 1/2 mm to thin. I will need to grind off portions of the tail light to get the bracket to ratchet closed. Tied to my seat post, the trunk bag obscures the light. Tied to down tube the wheel/fender obscure the light. If I use the rubber strap to strap to the cross member, oriented horizontal, the light will eventually swing downwards.
Wish I could like this more. Its a great light.

Security blanket

The Vis Pro 180 is a shield protecting me and keeping me out of harm's way. Riding during the day I've definitely noticed that passing vehicles give me a wider berth when I have my Vis Pro 180 blinking at them than when I unintentionally omit to bring it. I feel vulnerable when it is not on my seat post. At night it is never omitted. I cannot recommend the Vis Pro 180 bike light enough. I have 5, one for each family member (and a spare!).

Super bright light with a few design flaws

I am a repeat buyer of this light and other lights from L&M - they are a great company to deal with and have outstanding bike lights. I really love how well the Vis 180 Pro works as a tail light (super bright, simple and easy to charge, provides great visibility) , but there are some practical issues with the design:

1) The plastic charging port cover easily separates from the device. L&M has sent me replacement covers, but they are virtually impossible to install yourself. Using them with just friction to hold them in place is iffy. I have lost several that popped out when used that way. My workaround is to cover the charging port with clear plastic packing tape, but that is a nuisance to take on and off.

2) After some use, the light no longer slides out of its mount. The small bump in the back which pushes against the release erodes and is unable to fully reach the release mechanism. As a result, the mount and light need to removed together.

3) The continual placement and removal of the mount fatigues the rubber mounting strap. I have gone through two of them already and am on my third one. [ The rubber strap for my TAZ 2000 has also fatigued and broken, but that belongs in a different review...]

4) After riding through rough conditions (muddy snow), the articulation mechanism freezes. Thoroughly cleaning the mount doesn't help. The release button pushes in, but the mount still doesn't move. Fortunately for me, it's frozen in the position I need it in (I use the rear rack mount, so no articulation is necessary).

Best all-around taillight I've ever found, especially in daylight!

One of the critical efficiency details for a taillight (especially in daylight) that's rarely discussed is the lensing. Most lights are either a too-tight spot or too widely diffused, neither of which makes good use of precious battery power
If a light isn't aimed at the eyes of drivers behind you, it fails to stand out in daylight.
If you shine this taillight light at a wall, it has a nearly perfect beam cone that sends maximum brightness to cars behind you, with minimal lumen-waste in directions where drivers are not.

For daytime visibility balanced with amazing runtime, this light is absolutely the king!

The yellow side-lights do a great job of reminding cars of your presence as they come alongside you.
The only (and baffling) complaint I can see in these reviews is from people who can't tell the button from the charging flap and manage to rip the button off.
The solution is pretty simple; DON'T RIP THE BUTTON OFF...
