Why won't my light turn on?  The power button just blinks red.

Your light is in travel lock out mode.  Light & Motion incorporates this feature into all of our lights for storage and travel because there is nothing more frustrating than to pull your "charged" light out of the drawer or bag only to find it discharged.

To unlock, press and hold the power button & the mode button simultaneously for about 4 seconds. The indicator light will blink green 3 times.

To lock, when the light is on, press and hold the power button (clear) & the mode button (black) simultaneously for about 4 seconds. The indicator light will blink red 3 times.  Now it is safe to store your light.

What is paceline mode and why would I use it?

Paceline mode activates only the amber side marker lights. It is best used when riding with groups.

Best all-around taillight I've ever found, especially in daylight!

One of the critical efficiency details for a taillight (especially in daylight) that's rarely discussed is the lensing. Most lights are either a too-tight spot or too widely diffused, neither of which makes good use of precious battery power
If a light isn't aimed at the eyes of drivers behind you, it fails to stand out in daylight.
If you shine this taillight light at a wall, it has a nearly perfect beam cone that sends maximum brightness to cars behind you, with minimal lumen-waste in directions where drivers are not.

For daytime visibility balanced with amazing runtime, this light is absolutely the king!

The yellow side-lights do a great job of reminding cars of your presence as they come alongside you.
The only (and baffling) complaint I can see in these reviews is from people who can't tell the button from the charging flap and manage to rip the button off.
The solution is pretty simple; DON'T RIP THE BUTTON OFF...

Great light, but the mount needs work

The Vis 180 Pro is a bright light. It will mount well in many situations. However, the light isn't easy to click out of the mount. You have to push the light inward to get the clicking action to work. This is not intuitive and was not explained in one of the videos (it was in another). The instructions are scant. They are pictures with arrows that remind me of IKEA instructions. The rubber flap is too long and appears to be an attempt to provide a strap for all occasions. Works well for an aero seat post, however, there is too much strap left flapping around which will hit a rider's leg when used on a regular seat post. One video shows the extra strap length doubled pinned back but this did not work well. The strap can certainly be cut to size, but then you are limited if you move the light to a different mount. An extra strap half the length would solve this problem. I'm keeping the light and not returning it, but it requires work. One star knocked off for lack of good documentation and one knocked for a useless strap.

fine light - no problems

My only hesitation in buying this light were the two warnings about the on/off button being confused with the power port cover. The on/off button is BLACK and the power port cover is white/clear. So, forewarned is forearmed.

I have lost several rear lights from OTHER manufacturers that bounced off in bumpy terrain. So, I've added a small lanyard, securing the light to the rack as backup to the very good provided rubber strap. A built-in lanyard would be a nice improvement.

Seat post lighting

I have made purchased multiple Vis180s over the years. I love this light. Actually, all my lights are Light and Motion. I always have a set on my bike, and a set at home, ready to go.

I can count on them to give me years of great service, and... really great customer service as well.
