the Sola Pro 3800 is my 4th light purchased over 10+ years of diving. Started with an 800 - then to 2000 and now dual 3800 video lights. The 800 is still going strong as the new 3800! they all have slightly different uses, and they all work just as well as the first day I purchased them (with appropriate maintenance).
the 2 Pro 3800s are used for my GoPro setup and they provide a GREAT field of light!
a main reason I keep coming back to these products is the customer service. I've had no issues with the product but did have one issue with an invoice and the Customer Service Team was quick and professional and helped me resolve it immediately. I don't look anywhere else for dive lights...
This company produces quality lights, and has good customer service. They are helpful and accommodating. Would highly recommend them for your lighting needs.
Amazing lights, I have used them from tropical locations to the frozen waters of Antarctica. I would recommend them to any serious underwater photographer or videographer.
works great as always
I purchased 4x SOLA S/F 2500 lights for night diving in Bonaire with the entire family. The experience range of us ranged from recently certified to master diver status. There were a number of outstanding positives. The available lumen output and use time matched exactly to what was advertised. There was absolutely no drop off of intensity throughout the entire dives. Second, the intuitive controls were easy to use under water and were second nature in terms of use. Third, the ability to lock out the controls while traveling was a plus. There is zero chance of activating and harming your light due to heat when the controls are locked out. Seeing other lights turned on when they came out of baggage claim was eye opening (not withstanding that we carried out lights versus put them under the plane).
When diving with a large group you will find that you may only use to lowest spot (300 lumen) or flood setting (600 lumen). With light from other diver, the ability to stretch battery life could be appreciated. If diving in smaller groups, the crips light for the SOLA does not need to be on the highest level. The only time we used the highest spot output level was when looking into the deep to see the tarpon eye approaching from the deep.
My only downside for the light was the fit for larger hands if you use the included hand delivery. This is made even worse if you use in cold water and have a glove on. Make sure that you test it on dry land before having to fumble with it in the water.
