2500/1200

The light is great and very bright. I have another one of these lights it is the 800 lumens one. As for the one I bought I wish it would have been 2500 lumens on spot that is the only thing I am not happy about. I did not read the tech specs when I bought this light. These lights are great do not get me wrong. Like I said I wish it would be brighter on spot then flood. I mainly us this light night diving for bugs.

Sola 2500 S/F: Reliable & Versatile

I have been diving with L&M products for years and stand solidly behind their brand. Because of an upcoming international liveaboard dive trip, I decided to purchase a backup to my trusty Sola 2000/600 S/F, which I have used extensively over the last 6 years. Of particular Sola appeal for me is the spot/flood option. I toggle between these functions easily and can vary the light's output with a simple slide of the switch. It is rare to require the light at its brightest setting. I have never exhausted the battery on any of my L&M lights. The slide switch might be confusing to new users but practice will make perfect. I highly suggest using both of the Sola's lockout features (detailed in the instructions) when stowing gear to avoid accidentally turning on the light. If you are an advanced diver, you should be diving with two light sources ("two is one & one is none"). The Sola and Gobe are the perfect combination of primary/secondary lights. Add a single-end bolt snap (or other retaining device) to each and you'll be ready to go!

Capable and durable

I purchased a Sola 2500 and Gobe Spot for vocational and recreational use. I find the hand strap not conducive to my uses but the pistol grip is perfect for my needs. I use both lights 6-7 nights a week for work as well as spearfishing at night. All i can say is if you have used a Sola you know they are quality and reliable. Im hoping to get as many years as i can out of these lights and will definitely be putting them to the test as stated i use them 6-7 nights a week.

Best Scuba Gear Purchase

I purchased my Sola dive light after a dive where me and my buddy bumped into another pair of divers underwater. They had Sola dive lights, and you could clearly see their lights underwater. Because it was a bright day, the sun washed out my weak light--I had to check and see if it was even on.

Around ten years later, and I'm on my second Sola dive light. It is my favorite piece of gear--the spotlight makes diving at night or in low-visibility conditions so much easier. I am convinced that it helps me spot tiny nudibranchs I wouldn't otherwise see. The flood setting is excellent for photography.

My first Sola dive light lasted almost ten years. When its seal eventually failed, customer service replaced the entire light at heftily reduced price, even though it was way out of warranty. I'm both impressed with both the light and happy with the customer service.

Didn’t come with USB cable

I bought this new light for the USB abilities and it only came with the charging dongle and NO CABLE. I had three USB C cables at my house, none of which were compatible. I went and drove around town this morning and bought $30 worth of USB cables, none of those are compatible. I have been a long time customer of Light and Motion products but I am frustrated that I bought a $500 light with no way to charge it. I now have to special order the USB C cable online that meets the specifications. I wish I would have not bought the USB option. It is very frustrating.
