Warranty Coverage and Limitations
Light & Motion (DBA StellaPro) products are designed to be durable under normal use. We proudly warrant Light & Motion branded lights against defects in materials and workmanship for two years from the date of purchase.
Consumables, such as batteries, carry a one-year limited warranty. Batteries are designed to retain up to 80% of original capacity after 350 full charge cycles. The one-year warranty includes service coverage for defective batteries. For products out of warranty, Light & Motion may offer battery replacement or an upgrade service if available. Pricing and availability may vary.
Where applicable, we recommend registering your device to activate warranty coverage and streamline potential service and support needs (Photography and video lights with serial numbers are eligible for registration).
Scope of Warranty
This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship but does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or natural degradation over time.
At our discretion, Light & Motion may repair or replace defective products with parts or components of the same value. Depending on availability, replacements may differ in model or color. Replacement lights carry a two-year warranty from the date of replacement. Warranty coverage is limited to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
Important Considerations During Transition
As Light & Motion undergoes an operational transition, repair services and warranty claims processing will be temporarily unavailable. Customers are encouraged to refer to these warranty terms and consult their original purchase date to confirm warranty eligibility.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
- Products obtained from unauthorized resellers or second-hand sources (such as eBay).
- Lights marketed as “Refurbished” or “Final Sale” items, which carry a 6-month warranty.
- Products used in rental programs, which carry a 6-month warranty.
- Discontinued products and items no longer in production are not eligible for warranty services. We recommend contacting customer support for potential third-party repair options for discontinued items.
The following are also excluded:
- Consumable wear parts (batteries, lenses, seals, and moving parts).
- Cosmetic wear and tear.
- Damage from impacts, unauthorized modifications, or improper cleaning.
Battery Care and Performance
Our lithium-ion batteries are designed for longevity, though their performance may degrade over time. Proper care and storage are recommended to maximize battery life. The one-year limited warranty includes defective batteries but excludes issues from deep discharge or exposure to extreme conditions. For optimal performance:
- Fully charge your battery before its first use.
- Recharge every 2-3 months if stored to avoid deep discharge.
IP Ratings for Water Ingress Protection
Light & Motion lights are tested to an IP rating standard, ranging from IP65 to IP68, depending on the environmental conditions. Refer to your light’s specific IP rating to understand its water ingress protection level.
Authorization of Warranty Claims
Only Light & Motion is authorized to make final decisions on warranty claims, and no additional warranty entitlements can be granted by other parties, including authorized dealers.
Limitation of Liability
Light & Motion’s liability is limited to the product’s original purchase price. We accept no liability for incidental or consequential damages, force majeure events, or damage arising from third-party use. Warranty limitations do not apply where legally required by mandatory regulations.
