Lobster diving made easy

I purchased this light at the Long Beach Scuba show last year, and it was advertised as a great option for a lobster light. The L&M rep was not kidding; I absolutely love this light. I was able to finally use it a few days ago on the California opening night lobster dive. The light perfectly mounts on your palm and frees up your hand to grab the lobster for measuring with two hands. There are two lights in this one housing, a white flood (Max 1200 lumens), and a red spotlight (Max 400 lumens). I was able to use the floodlight to search for the lobsters, and once I spotted one, I quickly switched over to the red spot to go in for the grab. I found that the red light did not spook the lobsters as much as the white light did. This back and forth of switching the light was super easy as all you need to do is push the knob forward for red or back for white light. I really like the way this light worked and highly recommend it as a primary light for lobster. However, there are a few things to consider before moving forward with this light. It can only be charged with a 110v wall charger. I thought there was a 12v adapter, but the USB-C one on the website does not fit this charger pattern. I feel this is a major miss on L&M's part as I needed to bring a battery bank that I can charge this light with. The private boat I was on only had 12V, and I needed this light for multiple dives. A 12V adapter should be an option as the battery is not removable. On a good note, my dive was 58 minutes, and I probably could have taken my second dive with the same amount of charge, but I try never to start a dive without a full battery. Another problem I came across is that I was not able to use this light to measure the lobster as the light was mounted on my hand, which didn’t work for me to hold it with that hand and use my other hand to measure. I will be getting a mask light so I can see the measurement. Another note is that a local dive shop told me that the floodlight would not work well to search for lobster as it can wash out your view if there is not good visibility. I didn’t have a problem at all with this, and I prefer it as a flood because I was able to illuminate everything in front of me. Clarity where you dive might be different, so keep that in mind. So in summary, I really like this light as a lobster dive light, and it helped me get my 2-day limit of 14 lobsters (7 of them over 5lbs!!!!). Thanks L&M for this option, but please make a 12V USB-C adapter for this light.
