Tosha Gaines is a lifestyle portrait and event photographer based in Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA. A self-taught photographer, Tosha's bold and colorful personality can’t help but be seen throughout her portraiture — dynamic imagery that pairs her eye for detail with a love of natural light and off-camera flash / continuous lighting.

Along with being a photographer, she is also a pediatric occupational therapist with a strong desire to photograph individuals with exceptional needs and showcase their ability. Her aim is to not only capture her client’s personalities, but to bolster their self-confidence one session at a time. It’s an aesthetic born from both her passion to create and helping others. This core aesthetic is the driving force behind her current project, “Transparent Color,” which focuses on individuals with special needs and mental health awareness via the eyes of a therapist. Furthermore, Tosha is the co-founder of Skilled Therapists Empowering People, which allows her to apply her twin passions to community programming and mentorship.

Tosha is very active in her art community and has planned numerous events and festivals. Her heart will always be with her hometown of Birmingham and enjoys documenting the progression of the city.  Photography is her therapy! Photography is her outlet! You can say photography is her therapeutic modality.
