Brendan Walsh aka “Bicycle Brendan” is an author, public speaker & adventure athlete who completes challenges to raise money for charity.
Starting in 2017, with absolutely no experience and a guitar strapped to the back of his bike, he rode from Boston to Seattle to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. This trip reinstated his love for adventure and pushing his mind & body.
The year after he ran his first marathon, he swam his first mile, completed a 70.3 IronMan and rode his first double century (200 miles). He completed a 2-part project called “10k For NAMI”. The first was a Guinness World Record setting ride for the “Fastest Crossing of America by bicycle N-S”. Less than a year later, he ran 100 miles under 24 hours across the entirety of Cape Cod to finish off the $10,000 fundraiser for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Brendan created the “NE6”- summiting the highest peak in each state of new England while cycling in between them in only 4 days for the Alzheimer’s Association. In June 2022, he ran 313 miles across Maine in 10 days while pushing a baby stroller with his own camping gear inside for the MS Society.
Brendan believes that adventure is a mindset, and everyone has the ability to go after their most ambitious dreams. His book “For Those Who Can’t - The Story of the First US North to South Record” is the story of his epic ride for NAMI.
In March 2023, he will break the “Guinness World Record for the Fastest Crossing of South America from North to South” to raise $30k for clean water in Honduras through Water1st.
