FAQ

Why won't my light turn on?  The power button just blinks red.

Your light is in travel lock out mode.  Light & Motion incorporates this feature into all of our lights for storage and travel because there is nothing more frustrating than to pull your "charged" light out of the drawer or bag only to find it discharged.

To unlock, press and hold the power button & the mode button simultaneously for about 4 seconds. The indicator light will blink green 3 times.

To lock, when the light is on, press and hold the power button (clear) & the mode button (black) simultaneously for about 4 seconds. The indicator light will blink red 3 times.  Now it is safe to store your light.

What is the difference between the Vis 1000 & the Vis Pro 1000

The Vis Pro 1000 has two distinct advantages:

1) fast charge - charging the light in 2.5 hours instead of 6 hours.

2) "charge and light" capabilities from a portable power source:  riders can charge their Vis Pro 1000 while lighting the road, or providing visibility as a daylight safety light in SafePulse mode.

What is Race Mode?

All of our bike lights have Race Mode which allows riders to toggle between high and medium with a push of a button.  This is useful to conserve battery power on technical rides - use medium when climbing, use high on descents.

To activate Race Mode, with the light off, hold the power button down for 2 seconds.  To deactivate, turn the light off.

Send your designers to a UX course

Another user already commented on this and I agree, The "user manual" is insufficient. A few words of text would really not cost you much, My biggest complaint: how do I know when it is charged? This is not described anywhere. After leaving it charged all night, it still blinks red. Such basic information needs to be easy to find and just a clock symbol with a range of hours doesn't cut it. This is my new (replacement) light and currently I am not inclined to recommend it to anyone. For the price, there are a lot of alternatives on the market.

Excellent light for the $$

Love the power and ease of use of this light. Kinda wish there was another strobe setting that was more frequent than the one it comes with (at my usual commuting speed I can go quite a long ways in the 4-5 sec. between flashes), but other than that I'm very happy with it.

1000 Lumens and Customer Service, too!

I’ve been using Light and Motion (L&M) lights for awhile now. Started out with 350... 500... 650 lumen lights. No more messing around. I just replaced a couple of my older worn out ones with two - 1000 lumen Troopers. So happy I did. Love the low/flash setting.

No small thing, the L&M customer service is even better than their wonderful bright lights.

Great Light!

I have been using this light in downtown Chicago area for about a month now and I have to say that I really love it. It is getting dark out here earlier and earlier and I am glad to know that I am visible to all of the traffic. There has been some times that I might have been hit by a driver that was not looking my way if I didn't have this powerful light.

Bright headlight & great value, but mount leaves much to be desired

Love the light, and my 5-star rating reflects the function and brightness of the light itself. Simple, lightweight, with a reasonable battery life. Would be nice to have USB-C charging in upcoming models, as the micro-USB has always been a frustration with it's asymmetric plug. My only concern is the mount, where the swivel is a bit particular. I have (had) a Seca Enduro before a recent theft, where this mechanism was a bit more simple and secure. The light and mount can be removed with the included silicon/rubber strap with relative ease; I don't mess with the screw.

I've loved my experience with Light & Motion lights, which is why I returned to them for my recent purchase despite some reasonable alternative entries in the mid/high end bike light market.
